Living Cadavers: how the poor are tricked into selling their organs

http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2012/03/living-cadavers-how-the-poor-are-tricked-into-selling-their-organs/254570/

This article was published by the Atlantic newspaper. This article briefly explains how people are corruptly coerced in Europe to sell their organs for money. This is bigger than I expected this epidemic to be. We should look up more touching material on this subject.

Zeitoun and the Journey of the Hero

In the novel Zeitoun, Campbell describes  the 11th stage as the"The Resurrection". This stage is at the climax of the character. In Zeitioun, we see Zeitoun tested beyond despair. He is thrown into jail, cavity searched and miss treat. Although Zeitoun had good intentions like the military and was not giving a change to prove himself. it still did not deturn him from his faith. He still prayed even though he was filthy and did not lose sight of the mission he was on. "The Resurrection" also goes on to say he is purified by a high and more complete level, meaning by the hero's action the conflict in the being start to lessen as when they initially started In the end its worth it.

Zeitoun

Zeitoun is a hero in many ways. In the first chapter,Zeitoun hear that Hurricane Katrina has the potential of becoming a Category 5 storm.  Although avoluntary evacuation is ordered. Kathy insists again to Zeitoun to leave, but still Zeitoun wants to remain in order to secure his job sites and watch their home.  This is heroic because he wanted to stay back and help and take care of the home while others left. He is brave, stubborn, fearless, and persisant. In a way he is a tragic hero do to the simple fact that he doesnt listen to warnings. He feels as though he knows best.

Collabo Stars

This image portrays Clytemnestra and Ageisthus after they killed Agamennon. We chose this picture because the image in the background *old man* looks like Agamennon haunting them. The woman looks like she enately wanted to hurt him but the man did not really want to be in the act. The clothes represent the darkness and evil. The lighting is very timid, gloomy looking.

Final Presidential Debate

I felt that during the final debate between President Obama and Romney was a one up on both. In the first Debate Romney clearly had the answers to everything and Pres. Obama choked on his words. Now in the final debate are President reminded us why we voted for him. They both had faults and highlights. To be quit honesty I have no idea who might win the election but I'm pretty sure that it is going to be very close. Anyhow the part when Romney starts attacking on china. I dont feel that is the real problem right now. The ecomony must be fixed, and lets be honestly no one in America is willing to do back breaking work for cheap. I agree with President Obama not doing anything agianst them. Starting problems with China now will just put us in a even bigger hole. To me I feel that Romney is to "trigger" happy, If we put him in office we might have alot of "fire" comming our way.

BoysDontCry

Part 1: The movie Boys Don't Cry is a movie about a young man who goes through a sexual identity crisis. Brandon Teena, who lives in a conservative part of Nebraska was brutally beaten and raped by two individuals John Lotter and Tom Nissen; who were mentally ill. These two was strongly against Brandon’s gender crisis problems.  Anyhow, when Brandon begins to develop a friendship with John and Tom, Brandon keeps his secret of being a woman to himself. However, when they found out they reacted in outrage that caused Brandon his life. They reacted according, the town that they are from thinks close-minded. They are not open to gay nor transgender, this small town, and strict basic way of life; thus making Brandon’s death inevitable.
Part 2: Allegory of the Cave identifies with the characters in Boys Don’t. I believe that John, Tom, Candice, and Lana's mother were all stuck in the cave. They were raise in a narrow why of thinking. They do not know beyond what is in their town. Lana, to me is a cave dweller who wants to leave the cave; she is wants to leave the cave because she disagrees with the life she is living. Brandon is like a reflection of the light inside the cave. Her gender identity forced her to escape the cage, those in the cave are afraid of her; she is outside the normal expectation.

VP Debate

First of all the Debate was awesome. It was totally different from the Presidential Debate with President Obama and Romney. VP Joe Biden and Congressman Ryan clear voiced there opinions but one thing i noticed is that it was more personal. Cong.man Ryan side swiped all of the responses to VP Biden's question and turned them out to be cut throat attacks on the President Obama's administration. When the Talk about Siberia came up, VP Biden acknowledge the progress Pres.Obama has made but Congressman Ryan took the time to attack VP Biden by saying that the Pres. Obama administration danced around the fact of the terror attack and made it appear as though Pres.Obama only blamed YouTube for the reason why nothing was done. NOT TRUE!! In actuality President Obama is making efforts to repair allies to follow the U.S. Either way VP Biden stayed on topic while C.Ryan deflected the shame on them.

Research Laramie

http://www.nytimes.com/ads/marketing/laramie/19981026_laramie7.html This article talks about the controversy with they gay lifestyle. Many people of Laramie feel the heightened awareness of antigay harrassment and the human rights code. Its relevant to Matthew Shepard because it explains why it took nearly 11years to pass anti-discrimination protection. President Obama supports gay rights " for me personally i think same sex couples should be able to get married ". Romney on the other hand believes that marriages should solely between a man and women.

President Debate

Well I can start by saying I clearly see the side President Obama is coming from as well as Romney. The both want the best for America but one thing that Romney stated that disliked was about education  He claims that is not that it is not important at this time to improve the economy but it would be better in the future. I disagree with this comment because I believe for a brighter future education must come firs, and not second. In order to move towards a greater good we must take care of the problem and the obstacles now. Giving money back to the states? that only successfully works if we invest in the people who need it first, help to be help, it is not a waste, educated is important Romney!
I agree with President Obama when he said that we do best when the middle class is doing well. President Obama is trying to keep taxes to benefit the poor and middle class to better the economy. with out that I believe the economy would crash. The way that Americans live today is way different than before, and cutting taxes would only benefit the rich in the long run. Go Pres.Obama!!!
Either they both made some good points however, I think i lean more towards the Democratic party, I just don't play with education.

Revised Animal farm

Dear Animal Farm, by George Orwell. This a current day fable and political controversial tale. I commend you animals on your road to revolution against the cruel tyrant farmer Mr. Jones.  You guys were initially successful following rebellion's most valuable leader Snowball, to turn Old Major's vision into a reality; but the outcome was a total destruction of the farm. Animal Farm your downfall was with Napoleon, He has compromised the 'freedom' Animal Farm stood for. Animal Farm is parallel to effects of Stalin's beliefs and theories in communism on his people. Comrades!  You expose the tragic parody of totalitarian governments and it in its raw form; with you farm animals representing every individual involved in the Russian Revolution. Two comrades that stood out the with different views was Squealer and Boxer
In the beginning, we see Squealer as a propaganda pig. He was clever and he was able to make something that was all wrong seem right. He was walking propaganda for Napoleon to justify his wrong doings. Squealer was able to convince the animals that Napoleon was only acting in their best interests and that Napoleon had made great sacrifices for Animal Farm. He explains why the pigs took the best food “Comrades! Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers" (Orwell, 35). The pigs justified their action based on their responsibility. The pigs claimed that they were the "brains" of the farm and required more nutrition than others. This argument was ironic because if there was anyone who needed the food more, you laborer animals did. Squealer is able to convince the animals that Napoleon is only acting in their best interests and that Napoleon himself has made great sacrifices for Animal Farm. Squealer never directly said the obvious truth. The most ludicrous showing of his devotion to Napoleon is when he convinced you comrades that Boxer was taken to a veterinary hospital instead of the knacker's. The retired home that was once promised by Napoleon had vanished in to thin air. Your revolution had landed you comrades under a tyrant leader they once had tried to escape.
On Boxer's behalf, he devoted himself to everything revolution rebellion. As a selfless individual when he collapsed during the rebuilding the windmill, his first thoughts are not of himself but to work harder. Stronger than all the animals on the farm combined he was completely naive and innocent. You comrades look up to Boxer, but since Boxer blindly he believed "… If Napoleon says it, it must be right"(Orwell, 82) I think your ignorance allowed the pigs to rule. I hope I am bring light to how delicate totalitarianism manipulates "for the greater good" as a smokescreen; and make you all more aware of the earlier signs of totalitarianism.

Lastly, the novel Animal Farm is harsh, brutal and unjust as is. In order to improve Animal Farm
civilians would be obligated to overthrow Napoleon's government. Letting one leader have complete control has failed and a democratic government would have to be put in. Along with that they must be permanent laws that the civilians must make and live by. And lastly crime must be proven in front of peers before extortion. Even though Napoleon's propaganda claims to be moving for the "greater good", animals truly live under absurd satire of freedom. It’s obvious that I disagree with you current government, and I think totalitarianism is unjust. I believe with these simple but key components (stated above) Animal Farm will be eventually equal and just.

The Larime Project

"The Laramie Project" by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tetonic Theater Project is play based on the catastrophic murder of Matthew Shepard. As a innocent, naive homosexual who lived in Laramie, Wyoming. He was viciously attacked by two locals Russell Henderson and Aaron McKinney. The play gave a chance for people of Laramie to voice there opinion, and explores diverse views as well as different emotion towards the murder . The two interviews that stood out the most was by the Baptist minster and Doc O'Connor.
Doc O'Connor was a limousine driver and local entrepreneur. He was Shepard's driver to the bar the night Shepard was beaten. He passively disagreed with the beating,  he claimed that Shepard had straight forward attitude that he liked that although he was very flamboyant.  Doc O'Connor says "The are more gay people in Wyoming than meets the eye...don't fuck with a Wyoming queer...'cause I know a lot of gay people in Wyoming"( Kaufman,21). Though ruff around the edges with the choice of words he used, Conner respect Shepards life style. The interview showed that Connor has an innate persona because he was not closed-minded . He had no ignorance while driving Shepard to the bar and treated him normal he even goes on to say "I don't think Wyoming people give a damn one way or another if your gay or straight..doesn't matter"(Kaufman,21).
On the other hand, the Baptist Minister, had a very different biblical view in mind on Shepard's homosexuality. He strongly disagrees with that lifestyle, he felt that the beating was absolutely wrong, but the minister believes that Shepard should have thought about his way of life while he was slowly dying on the fence. He stays, “I hope that Matthew Shepard as he was tied to that fence, that he had time to reflect on a moment when someone spoken the word of the lord to him; and before he has slipped into that coma he had a chance to reflect on his lifestyle” (Kaufman, 69). The minister strongly expresses religious views, but he did say  "I don't know that I really want to talk..I don't think.." Kaufman, 67). I think the ministers response was greatly influence by his religion and said what people of Laramie expected him to say as a minister of a church. This interview showed that he is a culturally produced person because his who lives based on his religious beliefs and answers accordingly.

Animal Farm Letter

Dear, Animal Farm

First and for most I commend you on you road to revolution against the cruel tyrant farmer Mr.Jones. You've took it upon rebellion's most valuable leader Snowball to turn Old Major's vision into a reality, but the outcome was a total destruction of the farm. Your downfall was when Napoleon took complicated drawing plans for the construction of a windmill from Snowball, and ordered the guard dogs Jessie, Bluebell, and Pincher to chase him off of the farm forever.Napoleon soon used Snowball as a scapegoat for the animals' troubles, claiming that he was traitor to justify his actions. This compromised the 'freedom' Animal Farm stood for.
In my perspective everyone was at fault for this outcome. All of the passive behavior from the civilians such as Boxer and Squealer of Animal Farm lead Napoleon to lead and conquer . On Boxer's behalf, he devoted himself to everything revolution rebellion. As a selfless individual when he collapsed during the rebuilding the windmill, his first thoughts are not of himself but of the work. Stronger then all the animals on the farm combined he was completely naive and innocent. Boxer blindly supported Napoleon claiming that "Napoleon is always right". Not the brightest of the animals, he heavily depended on Napoleon to make decisions for him. All though Boxer was devoted to Napoleon's plan, ironically Napoleon had no intention of providing for an old injured horse and  led Boxer to his death at the knacker's. His death is another example of Napoleon's tyranny.
One the other hand Squealer was a clever pig that could make something that was all wrong right. He was walking propaganda for Napoleon to justify his wrong doings. Squealer is able to convince the animals that Napoleon is only acting in their best interests and that Napoleon himself has made great sacrifices for Animal Farm. Squealer never direct and always skirt the obvious truth of the matter at hand. The most ludicrous showing of his devotion to Napoleon is when he convinces the animals that Boxer was taken to a veterinary hospital instead of the knacker's. In the end, the retired home that was promised slim chance of happening. The revolution had landed the civilians of Animal Farm under a tyrant leader they once had tried to escape.
In order to improve Animal Farm you civilians must overthrow Napoleon's government. Letting one leader have complete control must change. A democratic government must be put in!. The voice of the civilians must be heared. Along with that they must be permanent laws that the civilians must make and live by. And lastly crime must be proven in front of peers before extortion.  With these simple but key components Animal Farm will be truly equal and just.

Sincerely, S.A.Bazile

THE ENGLISH FOXHOUND AND SQUIRREL

Once upon a time, there was a wildlife sanctuary called Hum kingdom. This was no ordinary kingdom, there were grand valleys, ending miles of sweet lilac flowers, and a endless amount of crystal clear beauty that swept this sanctuary. The creatures of Hum kingdom were noble creatures. the community of Hum kingdom lived freely but also deeply believed in a  no predator or prey principal. With this said, there was no food chain, every individual was equally respected.  Therefore  civilians of Hum kingdom had vegetarian diet that consisted of  an  abundance of fruit, water, and many other life longed riches.

During the mid-summers in Hum Kingdom lived a scruffy old hairy English foxhound. He stayed alone in a condo tree fort off the outskirts of town. With a grumpy, unapproachable personality, neighbors always viewed the foxhound to be a unseemly timid individual. He often watched the weather channel on television and stayed to himself barely communicating to his creature-like peers . On the contrary, not too far lived a young handsome Squirrel, unlike the foxhound he was outgoing, joyful and wealthy. This clean-cut Squirrel's main objective of life consisted of partying, drinking, and living the wild child dream. Similar to foxhound he lived on outskirts of the kingdom but resided in upscale tree with two other posh roommates who embodied his lifestyle.

Anyhow enchanting summer days go by, and the scruffy old English foxhound notes a change in the atmosphere. Leaves slowly stripped the trees simultaneously as large clouds form from lifeless pedals covered the ground,  the warm summer air had become a back chilling breeze. Foxhound paid a lot of attention to the natural changes of the land, with his observations he learned to moderate tedious labor for food. In this case Foxhound knew in order to prepare of the brittle cold ahead he must gather basic essentials items in conflicting weather. So the English foxhound spend the rest summer collecting basic essential to live in the blistering cold.

On the contrary, Squirrel was enjoying the weather and decides to go for a long ordinary walk. Passing foxhounds residence along the way something catches his eye. He approaches the English foxhound and asks “why are you working in the hot sun?, why aren't you relaxing in the shaded?”. The foxhound paused, gasping for breath the English foxhound replies “preparing for a bone chilling experience you snob, many things will become scarce in the upcoming season”. Baffled by the responds from the foxhound, the Squirrel nonchalantly brushes off the warning and sarcastic says "Ah foolish old man! there's nothing that money cannot buy". Foxhound shook his head and continued his back break work. Without a warning Hum kingdom blissful summers comes to a dead stop, where once lied an abundance of life, fruit, and vegetables laid a grim lay out of drought. when summers ended like the grumpy foxhound said the never ending chill began to set in. Farms where the wealthy often shopped where now covered by a thick icy snow.

Furthermore creatures of Hum kingdom began to die, including the Squirrel no one was prepared for the icy season like the English foxhound. Squirrel ran low on food, he hadn't thought about the winter ahead. The only one of his household to survive, the starving Squirrel had no choice. If Squirrel wanted a fighting chance to live he had no choice but to swallow his pride to ask the scruffy, stubborn old foxhound a helping hand . When asked by the foxhound " where were your summer gatherings?" Squirrel embarrassingly explained that he had eaten and dried out all of his resources available to him with is roommates all summer. In the end,  the foxhound forgives Squirrel and helps him despite Squirrel's nonchalant, snobby attitude. This infers that in some instances it is wise to plan ahead despite ones financial disposal.
