1. How are Antigone's and Creon's ideas of law and justice different? Use a quotation from each character to support your position. Whom do you sympathize with and why?
2. What difference does it make that Antigone is a woman? What attitudes toward women are expressed in the play? Use quotations for support.
3. Do you think Creon fears Antigone? If so, what is it that he fears?
4. Who is the tragic hero(ine) in the play? Creon or Antigone? Hint: review Aristotle's definition of the tragic hero, page 77 of coursepak.
