Animal Farm

Dear citizens of Animal Farm,
The revolution began because of Old Major’s ideas and dreams, but all the natural laws he stood for have been violated. Take a moment and look back to the time you were under the control of Mr. Jones. Has anything really changed? You are all living the same way as you were before and maybe even worse. The reason for this revolution was to stop injustice yet you are receiving the same treatment. Is this the life you all desire? Do you like watching Napoleon and Squealer living like royalty while everyone else does the slave work? It is time to open your eyes and realize what is really happening around you. Some animals have been starting to act and live like the humans. The oppressed have stepped into the oppressors shoes, literally. This goes against all laws of animalism. There is no excuse as to why some of you have been tolerating this for such a long time. Stand up for yourselves, for your freedom! Is that not why you started this revolution in the first place?
Napoleon is the first animal responsible for the failure of the revolution. He hasn’t made a single contribution to this revolution. The only type of power Napoleon is interested in is his own power over Animal Farm. He has shown you in many ways why he is not suitable for his position, yet you still allow him to rule you. He chased off Snowball using military force. He kept the nine dogs to himself and trained them to his own advantage. Afterwards, he managed to take full control by brainwashing all of you into thinking everything was Snowball’s fault. He also stole Snowball’s windmill idea and manipulated the truth to make it seem like Snowball stole the idea from him. Old Major’s dream was for all the animals to live in unity and to never become anything like the humans. However, Napoleon disregarded Old Major’s concepts. He acted like a human and slowly started living like one. For example he and Squealer started sleeping in the farmhouse. That was against the rules because that is where humans slept. His excuse was that it was easier for them to study and they needed rest because they worked hard but the reason he was doing it was simply for his own comfort as well as Squealer’s.
Squealer was also to blame for the downfall of Animal Farm. He helped Napoleon gain and maintain political control by using manipulative language. He abused his ability to persuade to constantly justify Napoleon’s actions. He did not find it necessary to educate the other animals because his cleverness would satisfy him and Napoleon and that was all he cared for. He manipulated you all into thinking that the reason the pigs were the only ones allowed to eat apples and drink milk was because they were the brains of Animal Farm so they needed more food. They lied to get more food. It is unjust to be treated this way especially by your own kind!
Moses, even though did not play a huge part in Animal Farm and most of the time wasn’t present, was also a reason for the failure of the revolution. Sometimes politicians use religion to pacify the oppressed. It is easier to control someone by giving them something to dream about, something to wait for. This way they don’t realize that they are being controlled. For example, Moses spread stories about Sugarcandy Mountain, a place where all animals go to when they die. A lot of you were so busy dreaming about this place that you didn’t realize what was happening in the present moment.
Animal Farm could’ve turned out very successful if the leader was chosen by vote and the leader’s power was limited; just like a democracy. The pigs automatically thought they controlled the farm. Everyone should have the chance to give an opinion and a vote. By allowing one individual to have all the power that person will eventually become corrupt whether it is or isn’t in their personality. Even snowball started becoming demanding when he was on the farm. The power itself corrupts. Well comrades, what is done, is done! The only solution now is to rebel against Napoleon and Squealer! They should be chased off the farm just like the nine dogs did to Snowball. The windmill project should get started and a new leader should be chosen by vote not by dictatorship. A set of laws should be made and animals should be punished fairly if they disobey the law. Tasks should be equally split amongst all the animals. Everyone should try their hardest to bring this farm back on its feet. Every animal is equal and everyone has the ability to learn. The most educated animals should teach the less educated. No one should ever dictate this farm again! I wish the best to everyone and good luck.
                                                                                                Yours truly,
                                                                                                Lambrini Argenas
