Presidential Debate

To be very honest, there were a lot of things I didn't understand. I have not kept up with all the presidential things going on. Last night debate did open my eyes to certain things. First, I would like to say, I expected a little more from our president. I feel he was way too calm and passive. In a way it was like Mitt Romney was bullying him.  I felt every time Obama would say something Romney would put him down. Obama is our president so he should be the one shinning and staying strong not letting someone else out shine him. I would say Romney had a great debate last night though I do not agree with him, but he did good up there. I also think maybe Obama is probably just holding out, maybe next time would be better because one thing I know about Obama he is ALWAYS great when he speaks but last night was NOT his strongest.

One thing I did not like about Romney last night, I felt that he was talking just to talk. He was kind of going with the flaw vs being prepared. He says he want to change so much but I did not understand what; maybe it's just me. For example, one minute he is talking about cutting jobs and programs that are not "important" but the next he is talking about creating jobs...? Cutting PBS? I grew up with that channel, and I feel like it is very educational!!!

Obama talks about Medicare and how he can relate to his with his grandmother. I can also relate to because I also have a grandmother and that is how she lives. She has her own everything but it is because of Medicare and Medicaid. So that is very important to keep going. When he speaks about taxes and middle class. I feel he is very supporting with the middle class. I am not 100% sure with everything he is saying BUT I did like when he used the example for the middle class saving money on their taxes to HAVE money. For example, when families have to buy their child a computer for school. The parent would have to do so, the businesses now how customers and they get money and the businesses are now able to hire people because they have business going. Another thing, is education. I love the idea of getting more teachers in math and science. A lot of people have problems with these subjects.

Overall, I wish I knew a little more. Which I am hoping by next debate I am up to date with everything and Obama gets to do better!!!!

  1. Hey Gissell:

I feel the same way as you about PBS! It is the best television ever. :-)

  2. Hi Gissell--I like the way you focus om medicare and education--both really important and I agree with you on two counts--Romney made broad statements which sounded cool (and seemed very cool, composed, smiling) but not sure how much to trust--also agree that it was not Obama's best performance!
